Back in September I wrote a post titled As I Watch Some Friends Pursuing Their Dreams… as a way to hold myself accountable to make the changes I wanted in my life. After much todo, I am happy to report I have settled into my new town, new digs, and new lifestyle. I have plans for a small business in town involving craft beers while I continue to work on my freelance writing and editing jobs. I have a full-size garden now, which I have started tilling and preparing for Spring planting. I have a workshop where I can begin tinkering with metal and woodworking projects in my spare time. And I have 2 cats that I recently inherited, Annie and Ernie. Both are amazing creatures and I am blessed to have them in my life. I am making money, my expenses are low enough that I don’t have to struggle, and I live across the street from a lovely body of water.
Stay tuned. 2013 is going to be killer.
Rock on David! Glad to see you getting things sorted. What part of the country did you end up in? It’s been so long…
Jesse
Coastal North Florida, surprisingly. Loving it and glad to start feeling “home’. Hope you’re doing well Jesse!
Glad to hear you’re well. I am in central Florida, welcome to our beautiful state! 🙂
For a long time I have been struggling with leaving the comfort of what I know for the life of my dreams. The hardest part is that most people do not share my dream. In fact, the people that I hold closest think me crazy. My parents fear I’m throwing my life away. I’m single; how will I find my soulmate if I dismiss the Standard American Life? How did you get over the hump? How did you embrace that leap of faith?
David – congratulations on making some decidedly positive changes! I can’t wait to hear more about your new life!
Let us know how it goes David!
