If you like the topic of this post, I really do highly recommend reading Quinn’s book, but start with his book Ishmael first, or else alot of what he’s saying in Beyond Civilization won’t make much sense.

I agree. if we all do a small step each it will soon snowball. I love finding different ways to live more simply and it’s “buy nothing Day” on the 28th November, I will not be buying anything on that day. I dont like shopping anyway.

I really like the old minds and new minds quote. I think to rebuild our economy things have to change and we must create a bold new future for the next generation. We won’t get that will the old way of doing things. This is an awesome, forward thinking blog. Thanks.

I like to think of myself as a “producer”, not a “consumer”.

Garden produce, sewing, cooking, canning, preserving, fishing, clamming, hunting, crabbing…self-harvested meals!

Making something out of nothing.
Using dump and garage sale finds to make something work. Passing along finds to others, and donating the excess to charities.

If we all strove to PRODUCE more ourselves, there is no need to make so much money Result – more free time!
More leisure. More enjoyment in life!
