Desk Envy: The Ultimate Simple Office – One Less Desk.

Ever have a case of office desk envy? No? Then you don’t know what you are missing out on! As I am sure you have figured out by now, I like my things to be neat and orderly – I am kind of OCD like that. I have posted some of these before, but here is what my home office desk setup looks like right now (even though since summer started I mostly work out on the deck):

And just when I think I have my home office down to its bare minimum, I come across this desk system from Heckler Design that has given me an incredible case of desk envy:

How about that for simplicity? I don’t keep any paper or anything like that on my desk anyway, and the only thing I really need room for is my iPhone. This desk would look fantastic with my great Think Chair, too. So tempting. However, there is one thing stopping me – the price. It’s just too much money for my blood for a desk. But I sure do have some desk envy of its inherent and amazing simplicity. What do you think of it?

I agree. It is sweet looking and great idea that it can be moved out of the way by pushing one under the other. However, I am with you on the price tag. There has to be a fine line drawn at some point when reaching for simplicity and it’s not costing us more than is really needed.

It is a nice look but I think I am sticking with the white simple wooden desk that seems to keep me grounded in the past a little. Something about the feel of wood sometimes instead of to much stainless.
The appealing side of this is that it looks so much like my Apple stuff.
    hmmmm….

Oh what fun! Might have to draw up plans for that one and see if I can’t talk my father into showing me how to weld…

Wow…that is one slick desk! I love how it’s design matches the case on a Mac Pro. Also love the hidden shelf for cables, etc…

I have desk envy of the cool new design as well as your current desk. Thanks for sharing both.
